Scenic Coast Father’s Day Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Happy May!! This month our Team Blog Hop Theme is “For the Men/Boys”. And of course I chose to do a Father’s Day card with that coming next month. Usually we have at least one “masculine” suite, but in our latest catalog there are more options! I love the vibrant colors in the Scenic Coast Suite so I decided to use that one. Here is my card:

To make this card:

  • Cut Night of Navy cardstock at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″
  • Cut Balmy Blue cardstock to 4 x 5-1/2″ and emboss with So Swirly Embossing Folder (this one is on the Last Chance List, grab it while you can!)
  • Glue embossed Balmy Blue panel onto the cardbase
  • Cut Night of Navy scrap with the 4th largest die from the Everyday Arches Dies
  • Cut the Scenic Coast Specialty Designer Series Paper featuring the sunset with the 5th largest Everyday Arches Die, glue onto the Night of Navy die cut arch.
  • Adhere the matted arch panels onto the card with dimensionals.
  • Cut out sailboat and birds with the Sunset Coast Dies. Trim the sailboat die cut down to the sailboat only.
  • Glue sailboat and the smallest bird onto the DSP
  • Stamp sentiment “Happy Father’s Day” from Relaxing Waterside Stamp Set with VersaMark ink onto scrap Night of Navy, apply white embossing powder and heat set
  • Punch out the sentiment with the Three Banner Punch and adhere with dimensionals

For the inside of the card, add a small strip of the DSP to the bottom of a white panel and add the largest die cut bird in the upper left corner.

And of course, don’t forget to decorate your envelope for a complete coordinated look. If your remaning DSP is a little too short for the envelope flap, you can always trim the flap. As long as you have most of the adhesive to seal the envelope left, you are fine to trim it and use up all that beautiful DSP.

This DSP is so pretty in person, it has an iridescent finish which really makes it look like the sun is shining on the water. It is amazing!
