Beach Boardwalk Celebrate Card for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! This week we have a Sketch Challenge for our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.

With all the recent nice weather, I was drawn to the sunshine patterned paper of the Beach Boardwalk Designer Series Paper so I decided to incorporate it into my sketch. Also I rarely make orange colored cards, so this is me stepping out of my box! Here is my card:

The front of my card is shorter than the back of my card. The white part at the bottom is actually the back of the card. You can see this in the picture below:

To make this card:

• cut Thick White Cardstock at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″
• Cut 1/2″ off the bottom front of the card
• Cut Timid Tiger Cardstock at 3-3/4 x 5-1/2″ and glue onto front of card
• Cut the Sunshine patterned paper of the Beach Boardwalk Designer Series Paper at 3-1/2 x 5-1/2″, do not glue yet
• Ink the 3 palm tree images from Boardwalk Fun stamp set in Timid Tiger and stamp across the patterend paper. Use the bottom of the palm tree stamp to extend the trunks as needed.
• Ink these same 3 palm tree images in Daffodil Delight ink and stamp slightly off the right of the orange trees for a shadow or glow effect
• Stamp the roller coaster image with VersaMark ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set. Glue this panel onto the front.
• Open card and stamp the sentiment “Celebrate” from the Boardwalk Fun stamp set in Timid Tiger ink. Make sure the sentiment fits when the card is closed
• Stamp the sentiment ” Enjoy the Ride” in Timid Tiger inside the card and add the small palm tree image in Daffodil Delight
• Add 3 In Color Pearls in Timid Tiger to the bottom left of the card for embellishment.

I added the same DSP to the envelope and stamped the palm tree in the 2 colors to coordinate with the card.

This card definitely gives me the fun sunny vibes especially with the palm trees and roller coaster. If you havent checked out the Beach Boardwalk Designer Series Paper, you definitely need to. Its full of that fun happy feel!

Changes to the Upcoming Catalog Timelines

Starting in May, Stampin’ Up! is refreshing the way they share products in print, with a new, streamlined catalog strategy designed to make shopping from their catalogs easier and more intuitive.  Instead of an annual catalog and multiple minis, they are moving to three beautifully designed catalogs per year—each one complete, current, and easy to use on its own.  No more overlapping catalogs!

Each catalog will introduce new products alongside a selection of customer-favorite staples (core products)—such as stamps, ink, paper, tools, and adhesives—bringing the feel of a mini catalog and an annual catalog together in one place.  This balanced approach creates an easy-to-shop print experience, all within a catalog released every four months:

New Magnetic Ink Pads – 2026-2028 In Colors!

Beginning in May 2026, Stampin’ Up! will introduce new felt ink pads in a magnetic, stackable case design.

• In 2026, only the new In Colors will be offered in the new magnetic felt pads.
• In 2027, all ink colors will transition to the new magnetic felt pad as part of a planned color revamp, and the current pad style will be phased out.

Importantly, existing ink pads will remain usable throughout this transition—there is no immediate need to replace what you already own. Please be aware, however, that once the transition takes place, the old ink pad design will only be available while supplies last.

The photo is an early peek at the new 2026-2028 In Colors!  And they look beautiful!!  The new Magnetic Ink Pads in the new In Colors will be available to order May 5!  The colors are a little hard to read in the image, but here they are (from left to right):

• Crisp Cantaloupe
• Barely Blush
• Golden Glow
• Peaceful Pine
• Hydrangea Hue

I have heard that these new ink pads are much easier to open and close and I am looking forward to that!
