Black & White Cutest Crew Card for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! Today, we have a sketch challenge for our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. Here is the sketch we are to use:

and here is my card:

I am in love with the Cutest Critter stamp set! It features cats, dogs, birds, and butterflies! It is definitely one that will put a smile on your recipient’s face. For today’s card, I used the cats and a black & white theme. Although, when photographing this card, I realized black is really hard to photograph!! If you look at the top and the bottom of the card closely, you will see that I did a strip of black-on- black pawprints.

To make this card:

• Cut Basic Black cardstock at 4-1/4 x 11″ and score at 5-1/2″
• Cut 2 strips of pawprints with the pawprint dies from Cutest Crew Dies with scrap Basic Black, glue on the top and bottom.
• Cut Basic White cardstock at 4-1/4 x 4-1/2″, stamp 4 rows of cat images from the Cutest Crew stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Start with a different cat for each row, and finish each row with a second stamping of cats.
• Color the butterflies with a tiny bit of Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend and add Wink of Stella on top
• Stamp scrap Basic Black cardstock with “Have the Best Day” sentiment from the Cutest Crew stamp set using VersaMark ink. Add White embossing powder and heat set.
• Cut the sentiment with the banner die from Stylish Shapes Dies and adhere with dimenstionals between the 3rd and 4th row of cats.
• Adhere the cat panel with dimensionals between the strips of black pawprints.
• Add 3 Basic Rhinestones for embellishment.

For the inside, I decorated a panel of Basic White with a strip of the die cut pawprints at the bottom. I used the butterfly stamp for the top left, but only inked up one butterfly. I colored the butterfly with Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend and Wink of Stella.

Changes to the Upcoming Catalog Timelines

Starting in May, Stampin’ Up! is refreshing the way they share products in print, with a new, streamlined catalog strategy designed to make shopping from their catalogs easier and more intuitive.  Instead of an annual catalog and multiple minis, they are moving to three beautifully designed catalogs per year—each one complete, current, and easy to use on its own.  No more overlapping catalogs!

Each catalog will introduce new products alongside a selection of customer-favorite staples (core products)—such as stamps, ink, paper, tools, and adhesives—bringing the feel of a mini catalog and an annual catalog together in one place.  This balanced approach creates an easy-to-shop print experience, all within a catalog released every four months:

• January–April
• May–August
• September–December

These seasonal catalogs are designed to put products front and center, making it easy for you to browse, discover, and shop by product category.

New Magnetic Ink Pads – 2026-2028 In Colors!

Beginning in May 2026, Stampin’ Up! will introduce new felt ink pads in a magnetic, stackable case design.

• In 2026, only the new In Colors will be offered in the new magnetic felt pads.
• In 2027, all ink colors will transition to the new magnetic felt pad as part of a planned color revamp, and the current pad style will be phased out.

Importantly, existing ink pads will remain usable throughout this transition—there is no immediate need to replace what you already own. Please be aware, however, that once the transition takes place, the old ink pad design will only be available while supplies last.

The photo is an early peek at the new 2026-2028 In Colors!  And they look beautiful!!  The new Magnetic Ink Pads in the new In Colors will be available to order May 5!  The colors are a little hard to read in the image, but here they are (from left to right):

• Crisp Cantaloupe
• Barely Blush
• Golden Glow
• Peaceful Pine
• Hydrangea Hue

I have heard that these new ink pads are much easier to open and close and I am looking forward to that!
