Happy Thursday! This week for our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop, we have a sketch challenge!
I still had my Lovely Blooms Suite out and decided to use it again for this week’s card. Last week I used the Simply Beautiful Bundle from this suite. This week I focused on the other bundle in the suite: Beautifully Celebrated Bundle. Here is my card:
I used the dies from Beautifully Celebrated to make the center labels, the leaves, and the baby’s breath flowers. Because I needed a birthday card this week, I used a sentiment from the January Product of the Month stamp set: Fabulous Sayings. All the Designer Series Paper is the gorgeous Lovely & Beautiful DSP. This card also has some fussy cutting in it!
To make this card:
- Cut Old Olive cardstock for cardbase at 4-1/2x 11″, score at 5-1/2″
- Cut gold & white pattern of Lovely & Beautiful DSP at 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and glue on.
- Cut Peach Pie grid pattern DSP at 3-7/8 x 5-1/8″ and glue on.
- Cut floral and gold DSP with 4th largest label die from Beautifully Celebrated Dies
- Trace the outside edge of the same die onto the Calypso Coral & white pattern DSP and fussy cut, glue behind the label die for a matted effect.
- Ink sentiment ” Happy Birthday”from Fabulous Sayings stamp set in Versamark, stamp, add gold embossing powder and heat set.
- Remove this same sentiment stamp from block after cleaning, lay over the stamped/embossed sentiment and trace, then fussy cut around sentiment using traced lines as guide. Erase any marks as needed.
- Adhere the fussy cut sentiment to the matted labels with dimensionals.
- Ink leaf images from the Beautifully Celebrated stamp set in Olive Green and stamp onto Olive Green cardstock and cut out with corresponding die. Do this twice
- With the baby’s breath die, cut out from gold foil sheets twice.
- Glue each gold baby’s breath over one green leaf, adhere with glue onto card (eyeball before glueing for placement underneath the labels.
- Adhere labels over the the baby’s breath and leaves with dimensionals.
For the inside, I kept it simple by adding a small strip of the white & gold DSP to the bottom of a Basic White panel. I also stamped the baby’s breath in the top right corner with Calypso Coral Ink.
And of course, I had to decorate the envelope as well!
This suite is perfect for celebrations- birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries with its elegant designs and touches of gold. I have really been enjoying playing with this one.
