Lovely Blossoms Card for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! Hope everyone is doing well and ready for the holidays! This week we have a Sketch Challenge for our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop:

This is where these challenges stretch my creativity. I am Miss Everything Has to Be Perfectly Straight! So these crooked papers threw me off at first. I would not have made a card like this on my own, but now that I have done it, I love it! The only change I made is doing a vertical card instead of a horizontal card. I am really happy with how it turned out. Here is my card:

To make this card, I used the Lovely Arrangements Bundle and the Lovely Blooms Designer Series Paper from the the Lovely Blooms Suite. These will all be available in the new January 2026 Online Exclusives.

How I made this card:

The cardbase is Secret Sea cardstock, cut at 4-1/4 x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″. Both the green patterned paper and the white paper with the floral oval are from the Lovely Blooms Designer Series Paper. The green pattern is cut out at 3-5/8 x 5-1/8″ The white paper with the Secret Sea floral oval is cut at 3-3/8 x 4-7/8″. I glued these on “crooked” or slanted, however you want to call it, per the sketch challenge. I stamped the large flower and the sentiment from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set with Secret Sea ink onto scrap Basic White cardstock. I added a small touch of Cloud Cover color to the flower with my Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blend. I cut the flower and the sentiment out with the corresponding Lovely Arrangmement Dies, then adhered them with dimensionals for depth. The leaves are also cut out with these Lovely Arrangements Dies, cut from the same green patterned paper. I tucked this behind the flower, also with dimensionals. And that is it! Simple card with a few extras.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the same flower image in Secret Sea ink onto a panel of Basic White and added a small strip of the green patterned DSP at the bottom. Again, keeping it simple.

The final step was to decorate the envelope to make the whole package coordinate! I used the green patterned paper on the envelope flap and stamped the flower image on the front.

I am pleasantly surprised by the result of this sketch challenge and that I was able to embrace “crooked” paper. It’s good to try new ideas! I hope you enjoyed the card as well. If you have any questions about this card or any stamping needs, please email me at nicole@thesigningstamper.com, I would love to help you!๐ŸคŸ
