Light & Wonder Card for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you are having a nice day celebrating the things that make you happy. Today we have a Theme Challenge for our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.

Our Theme Challenge this week is Winter/Snow.

I love this one because I was able to pull out some stamps that I had not used yet or had not used in a long time! Here is what I made for this Winter/Snow theme:

To make this card, I used the Light and Wonder Bundle, Falling Snow background stamp, Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper, White All Season Velvet Specialty Paper, and Silver Glimmer Paper.

The cardbase is Blackberry Bliss cardstock cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. The next layer is the Silver Glimmer Paper from Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper. It is cut at 5-3/8 x 4-1/8″ and glued on. The next layer is a Lost Lagoon & Pool Party ombre pattern from the Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper. It is cut at 5-1/8 x 3-7/8″. I stamped the snowflakes on with the Falling Snow background stamp. This one has been around for a while and I love this one. I used Lost Lagoon ink for this stamp. I also had to stamp it twice since the width of the stamp is narrower than the panel I used. I cut the trees out of the dark Blackberry Bliss colored paper from Lights of Aurora DSP. I used the tree dies from the Light and Wonder Dies. I painted the tips of the trees with Wink of Stella to give them a sparkle of “snow”. I cut the white All Season Velvet Paper with the die that looks like a snow blanket. After cutting the “snow”, I stamped it with the sentiments “Wishing You a Year of” and “Wonder” with Blackberry Bliss ink right onto the velvet paper. It came out really good. Here is a close up of that:

For the inside I stamped the right side of a panel of Basic White with a portion of the Falling Snow background stamp with Lost Lagoon ink. Then I added the sentiment that says “you deserve all the good things” which is from the new Creative Haven stamp set.

I do not like snow or cold weather, but I do like how beautiful snow and snow scenes look. It was fun creating this cold, snowy winter wonderland card but that’s about as close as I want to get to experiencing it!
