Textured Notes for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! For our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop this week, we have a sketch challenge:

This challenge was a little more difficult for me initially. The rectangle over the circle was throwing me off. I wanted the rectangle to be BEHIND the circle, not in front of it! Then when I looked at my Textured Notes stamp set, everything fell into place! I love it when that happens. That’s why I love doing these sketch challenges; they make me change my patterns ( aka stubborness) so I am not creating the same designs over again. Here is the card I made:

I have not used Textured Notes stamp set in a while so it felt good to get it out and use it again. The cardbase is Pecan Pie cardstock cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ & scored at 4-1/4″. I cut a pattern from the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper at 3-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ and glued it onto a Mossy Meadow panel just a little larger for a matted effect. On the DSP, I stamped the two different leaf images from the Textured Notes stamp set. One was stamped with Crumb Cake ink and the other with Mossy Meadow ink. I stamped the circular basket image with Pecan Pie ink onto Basic Beige cardstock. I cut this out with a circular die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I sponged the edges of the circle with a little more Pecan Pie ink. I adhered the circle over the leaves with dimensionals. On a small strip of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in Pecan Pie ink. I adhered this on top of the circle with glue over the circle and dimensionals to the right of the circle. I made a small bow with the Linen Thread and sponged it with Pecan Pie ink to make it darker. I adhered this with a glue dot. The final step was to add some Streaked Dots for embellishment. This whole Mossy Meadow and stamped DSP panel was adhered with dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the corners of a Basic Beige panel with the the larger leaf image from the Textured Notes stamp set. This was stamped with Pecan Pie ink.
