Perfectly Pear Thank You Card

Today I’m sharing a card that I made for a Shoebox Swap this past weekend. It’s a Thank You card which is very appropriate since I am feeling very grateful today after coming home from a fun Stampin’ Up event this past weekend. Stampin’ Up offers so much support for their demonstrators and even more for those that have businesses. I feel so lucky to be part of a company that values their team so much. Each region of the US has their own Demonstrator Development Manager (DDM) whose main job responsibility is supporting the demonstrators and their businesses. If I have any questions, I can call or email my DDM for advice. This is in addition my awesome upline! The DDM for my area (South) is Heather Lambert. She set up a fun in-person event in Aiken, SC for the demonstrators in our area to attend. We were able to meet with her, learn some new things about the company, see sneak peeks of new products, and discuss business development with other demonstrators. I learned so much from Heather and the other demonstrators. What really surprised me was how friendly and supportive everyone was! I met SO many nice people. I came home feeling so inspired and supported!

One of the demonstrators who lives in Aiken set up a Shoebox Swap the night before. I participated in this Swap. The card I am featuring today is similar to what I made for the swap. For today’s blog, I added the pear and stem cut out with the dies to step up my swap card a little bit.

Instructions
-Fold and crease Mossy Meadow cardbase
-Glue Secret Sea/Mossy Meadow DSP onto cardbase
-Glue 4 strips of yellow DSP onto smaller Mossy Meadow panel
Tip- lay out the strips & make sure they are in the right order, you should see the pattern.
Tip- use liquid glue and gently place strips onto Mossy Meadow panel, once you feel you have the spacing correct then press down to adhere
-Secure ribbon towards the bottom of the smaller Mossy Meadow panel with the yellow strips-  I used the green side.   Tape the ends of the ribbon on the back side with scotch tape
-Adhere the Mossy Meadow/yellow strips DSP panel to the card with dimensionals
-Cut out Pear and Stem from the patterend DSP with the corresponding die
-Glue the Pear and Stem over the ribbon towards the left side of the card
-Ink the sentiment with Mossy Meadow ink and stamp onto the pre-cut white sentiment label
-Adhere the label over the ribbon and pear with dimensionals. -Add 3 Mossy Meadow Low Profile Sparkle Dots to the front for a touch of sparkle.

For the inside of the card, I decorated a panel of Basic White with a small strip the same yellow DSP as the strips on the front. I stamped the sentiment from the Perfectly Pears stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink.

I am so grateful to have been able to go to this wonderful event and meet so many nice people. Here are some pictures of our fun weekend!

Heather Lambert, our amazing DDM! She was so gracious with her time and also made sure that this event was fully accessbile to me as a deaf demonstrator. I appreciate all her extra efforts.

Susan Edwards is the demonstrator from Aiken who organized our Shoebox Swap the night before! She is so sweet and also went out of her way to make sure I didn’t miss any information during the Swap. Susan and her friend Judy did an excellent job organizing our Shoebox Swap. They even had prizes for us too! Susan also hosts stampin cruises which I am hoping to join! Susan’s blog is https://spartansusscraper.blogspot.com/

During the Shoebox Swap, I didn’t know very many people but lucky for me, this wonderful lady sat next me and we hit it off. She knows a little bit of sign language from a friend that taught her. This is Amy Sexton who is a demonstrator in Rock Hill, SC. You can follow her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thestampincardinal.

This talented lady is Geri Grinstead. She has been a demonstrator for 29 years!! She was a wealth of ideas and information! She gave a presentation with tips to improve our stampin business. I learned so many ideas from her that I can’t wait to start using. She was so gracious about sharing her ideas and truly wanted to support everyone. Fun fact: Geri was an audiologist and a military spouse so we had so much to chat about! You can follow her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/p/Grin-Stamp-Its-Rubber-Stamping-100057403031911/

I met so many more nice demonstrators and have even messaged with a few since arriving home but did not get pictures. I feel so grateful for this opportunity to connect with these awesome demonstrators!! Thank you to Stampin’ Up and Heather Lambert for making it possible!

I hope this post has inspired you to reach out and support someone! Even better, send them a card to let them know you are thinking of them!

Have a wonderful day! 🤟

  1. Nice card, and especially nice narrative about the support for SU Demonstrators, by both Stampin’ Up! and by fellow Demonstrators who are so willing to help new Demonstrators. 😊
