Spooky Sweet Boo Card for Amy’s Inkin Krew Blog Hop

It’s another month now and that means its time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. This month we are doing “Halloween Fun!” I am excited to see everyone’s Halloween cards. I love the silliness of Halloween when everyone takes a break from being serious! Here is my Halloween card:

This card uses the Spooky Suite Designer Series Paper, the Iridescent Treat Bags, and the Party Alphabet Dies. I love using the Iridescent Treat Bags for my cards to add a different texture and look to my cards. The really fun thing about the Iridescent Treat Bag is that it changes colors depending on how it catches the light. In the picture above it looks green. Look at the 2 pictures below and you’ll see that it can also look purple or orange! Perfect for Halloween!

To make this card, I cut a panel of Basic Black at 5-1/2 x 4″. I cut the letters word “BOO” out with the Party Alphabet Dies. Tip: I made a light pencil park across the front to keep my letters straight. After my letters were cut, I erased it. I also cut the “B” and the last “O” together. Then I cut the middle “O” by itself to space it evenly between the other 2 letters.

Next, I cut a panel of the candy patterned paper from the Spooky Suite Designer Series Paper. I cut it to be tall and wide enough to fit under the letters at 5-3/8 x 3″. I cut a piece of Adhesive sheet at the same size and placed it on top of the candy patterned DSP. I cut the Iridescent Treat Bag open and then cut the same size again 5-3/8 x 3″ and placed that on top of the adhesive sheet. I carefully glued this whole Iridescent covered candy paper under the letter openings. Due to the slick surface of the Treat Bag, I would use Stamp N Seal or Tear and Tape to secure it.

I decorated the letters with the Pumpkins and Crows punch out from the Spooky Suite Designer Series Paper, cutting the crow off one set of the pumpkins and then tucking those pumpkins behind the other set. I glued them together and then put them on the panel with dimensionals. I found another crow in another pattern in that DSP, cut that one out and glued it on top of the “B”. The last step was to add a few of the black Shimmer Star Foam Stickers to the panel. Once the panel was completed, I glued the entire thing onto a Basic Black card base cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ & scored at 4-1/4″.

For the inside of the card, I decorated a panel of Basic White with a strip of the the same candy patterned DSP. I used a “Happy Halloween” sentiment from the Spooky Halloween stamp set, inked in Pumpkin Pie. Then I cut another crow and glued him next to the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed this Halloween card! Have you made your Halloween plans yet? I will be coming home from our Inkin’ Krew retreat that day. Even though we are packing up and leaving that day, I hope we will have some time to be silly and enjoy Halloween! Hope your Halloween is lots of fun!
