Happy first Thursday in September! It’s very fitting that our challenge today is an Autumn theme.

Here is the card I made using the Amber Autumn bundle. I had so much fun with this background die!

To make this card, I use Basic Beige for my cardbase, cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ & scored at 4-1/4″. The next panel is also Basic Beige, cut at 5-1/4 x 4″. I sponged this panel with Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, and Pecan Pie using blending brushes. I also dabbed darker spots of each color randomly. I placed an adhesive sheet on the back of this panel. Then I ran this panel though my Cut & Emboss machine with the Amber Autumn background leaf die.

This panel was adhered onto the cardbase. I stamped the sentiment onto Basic Beige in Pecan Pie ink and cut it out with one of the dies from Traditional Labels Dies. I adhered the sentiment with dimensionals. Next, I die cut the leaf from the Amber Autumn Dies in Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow and the wheat plant in Pecan Pie. I swapped out the center/veins of the leaves for more contrast and then glued the 3 pieces together into an arrangement. I partially glued the leaf arrangement on the right side of the sentiment. I used a dimensional for the part that was off the sentiment label. I used Linen Thread to make a small bow. I sponged Pecan Pie ink with my blending brush onto the thread to make it darker. This was adhered at the bottom of the leaf arrangement with a glue dot. The last step was to add some embellishment with the Streaked Dots.

For the inside of the card, I decorated a 5 x 3-3/4″ panel of Basic Beige with the stamp that has the 2 leaves & 2 acorns. However, I just stamped the leaves portion of that stamp using Pecan Pie ink. I matted this panel onto a layer of Pecan Pie cut at 5-1/4 x 4″.

I enjoyed using the blending brushes to add color to this card. Even though I did not use the Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper, which is part of this suite, I was inspired by the colors in this paper. This shows how I am constantly inspired by the beautiful DSP even when I am not using it!
