Floral Charm Mosaic Card

Today I wanted to share a special birthday card! This card uses some of the products in the Floral Charm Suite. Its one of my favorite suites but I do LOVE flowers. It’s a great one to go to when your recipient also loves flowers.

To make this card, I used Petal Pink for the cardbase, cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ & scored at 4-1/4″. The next panel is a Subtles Designer Series Paper in Petal Pink, cut at 5-1/4 x 4″. To make the mosaic tile panel, I cut 2 panels of the Pretty Peacock patterned paper at 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″. Then I cut the multi color pattern paper at 3-1/2 x 4-1/2″. Basically, the multi-color paper is just a quarter inch wider. I cut up the multi- color paper into “tiles” on my paper trimmer, making sure to save them in the exact same order so I could still the pattern of the paper. Then I glued these pieces of “tile” onto the Pretty Peacock pattern paper, starting on the right side, lining the right corners up. I worked my way to the left side, gluing each tile down, making sure to leave a “grout” line in between. Once I got this panel covered with the tiles, I trimmed each side by 1/8 of an inch and glued it onto the second Pretty Peacock panel.

On a small piece of Basic White paper, I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink. I glued that down and added the Petal Pink braided ribbon. To secure this ribbon, I simply just cut a length slightly wider than the card and then scotched taped it on the back. It’s very easy and saves ribbon! I stamped the flower image in Tuxedo Black and colored it in with Pretty Peacock and Petal Pink Stampin Blends. I used a little bit of Color Lifter Blend to lighten the centers. This was cut out with the corresponding die and glued on over the ribbon. This whole panel was adhered with dimensionals in the center of the card.

For the inside of the card, I decorated a panel of Basic White with the same multi-colored DSP. I stamped the single floral image in Pretty Peacock and colored it in with Petal Pink.

To make the card extra special, I decorated the front and back of the envelopes too! I glued a panel of the same DSP across the back flap and the trimmed it down to fit.

This card was fun to make using the mosaic tile technique and the coloring. And of course the beautiful paper in the suite brings all those pretty colors!
