Beautiful Motifs Partial Die Cut Card

This card is another creation from the Beautiful Gallery Suite. There are just so many options with this suite! Today, I played around with one of the Beautiful Motifs dies that does a partial cutting. I saw this demonstrated for the first time at OnStage and I was blown away by this. I love the look of the leaves sticking up, but not cut out. You can see a peek of the cardstock underneath. It looks especially striking with contrasting colors. I loved the contrast of the black and beige in this floral pattern of the Beautiful Gallery Designer Papers. The paper decided the colors of this card for me: Basic Black and Basic Beige. The cardbase is Basic Black. The next floral panel is cut at 5-1/4″ x 4″.

I used the die cut on a 4x 2-1/4″ panel of Basic Black. I adhered Basic Beige carefully underneath it to peek through the partial openings from the die cut. The floral “frame” around black die cut is from the Gallery Blooms frame die. It is the smaller inside frame. I centered the black die cut panel with the beige glued underneath it to a 4-3/4 x 3″ Basic Black panel. Then I added the floral frame around the the die cut panel, being sure to pull some of the leaves over the top of the frame. This whole panel was adhered with dimensionals to the card base layer. The last step was to stamp the sentiment “Hello” from the Beautiful Motifs Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black onto Basic Beige cardstock. This was cut out with the small banner from the Stylish Shapes dies.

For the inside of the card, I adhered a panel of Basic Beige decorated with a strip of the DSP and stamped with the small floral image from the Gallery Blooms Stamp Set.

This card was really fun to make using the partial die cut. It was a few more steps than my typical card, but well worth the extra effort! The Gallery Bloom Suite is just so versatile!
