Prairie Grass Birthday Card

Hope you had a great weekend. We celebrated my husband’s birthday this weekend. Here is the card I made for him. It uses the Prairie Grass stamp set, Thoughtful Journeys Designer Series Paper, and the sentiment is from The Right Words stamp set. We also made this card in one of my stamp camps this month. It was a favorite, everyone loved the combination of the paper and the stamp. We all agreed its more challenging making a masculine card!

To make this card, I used Pretty Peacock for the cardbase. The next layer is Lost Lagoon, cut at 5-1/4 x 4″. Next, I added a panel of paper from the Thoughtful Journeys DSP cut at 5-1/8x 3-7/8″. I chose the pattern that looks like it could be a sunrise at the top and a lake at the bottom. I cut it so that the green (aka grassy) area was at the bottom right corner. This corner is where I stamped the Prairie Grass stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I inked it up again and stamped it a second time so they overlap just a little bit.

The sentiment is from The Right Words stamp set. I inked the “Happy Birthday” in Tuxedo Black and stamped it onto a scrap of Lost Lagoon. This was cut out with a banner die from Stylish Shapes dies. The banner was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside I adhered a 5-1/4 x 4″ panel of Basic White cardstock that is decorated with a thin strip of the Thoughtful Journeys DSP. I also stamped a small section of the same grass stamp off the right side of the panel.

And that’s it! It is a very simple card to make. This DSP is what makes the card so special! Hope you have a wonderful week! 🤟
