Cheers & Sips Birthday Card

It has been a hot summer already and this card is just what I needed to cool off! I just love the Celebratory Sips Suite. It has so many fun, cheerful images perfect for the summer. The DSP is amazing! Our Inkin’ Krew team meets quarterly to stamp together and the theme for this session was the Celebratory Sips suite. I volunteered to present a card for our team to make together. This is the card I made which uses blending brushes to color the drinks and to ink the background stamp.

To make this card, I used Strawberry Slush cardstock for the cardbase. Next, I used Blending Brushes to ink the Painted Stripes background stamp. I started with Darling Duckling at the top, used Timid Tiger in the middle, and finished with Strawberry Slush at the bottom. I stamped that onto Basic White cardstock which I layered onto the cardbase. On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the drink images and the orange and strawberry images with Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored these stamps with the Blending Brushes again.

Once colored, I cut them out with the corresponding dies. These were glued onto the pink dotted pattern from Celebratory Sips DSP. This layer of DSP with the drinks on it was glued onto a 3 x 4-1/4″ panel of Strawberry Slush. The Strawberry Slush layer was then adhered to the card with dimensionals. I stamped the “Cheers” sentiment with Strawberry Slush onto a scrap of Basic White and cut it out with a banner shape from Stylish Shapes Dies. This was adhered with dimensionals as well. The final touch was to add some In-Color Pearls onto the drinks to make it look like either bubbles or ice cubes.

For the team meeting, I left it up to the team on how they wanted to decorate the inside. For my card, I stamped the Basic White panel with the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Arched Wishes Stamp Set. I also added another strawberry in the top corner.

I feel like this card is perfect for a summer birthday. During our team meeting, we all suddenly became thirsty for a nice, cool drink!
