Charming Day Simple Fun Fold for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

I am so excited to participate in Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop today. Our theme this month is Fun Folds! There are so many fun fold card sketches out there; some very complicated and some simple. I chose to make a simple fun fold! This one is a great simple one to start with if you are new to fun folds.

To make the base of the card, I used Night of Navy for my card base. I used ribbon that will be available in the upcoming Holiday catalog coming out in September. Its a beautiful Misty Moonlight Ribbon with silver edging. I adhered this ribbon onto a panel of Floral Charm DSP that is mix of Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. Then I adhered this panel with the ribbon onto the Night of Navy of card base.

The main image on the card actually opens up to another image underneath it.

I used the Charming Day stamp set to stamp the large flower image onto Basic White. I colored this image with my Stampin Blends in Light Petunia Pop, Light Berry Burst, Light & Dark Pretty Peacock and Light & Dark Misty Moonlight. I cut this out with the 5th largest die of the Everyday Arches Dies and then matted it with a panel of Night of Navy cut with the 4th largest Everyday Arches die.

I used the 7th largest Everyday Arches to cut out another Basic White panel. I stamped this with the leaf image which was colored with Pretty Peacock and Misty Moonlight. I also stamped the sentiment onto this panel “You Made My Day”. This was matted onto Night Navy cut with the 6th largest die.

I cut a strip of Night of Navy to 6″x 1-1/2″, scored at 3″. This is what I used to make the fun fold. The INSIDE left half of the strip was adhered under the smaller Arched mat with the leaf image facing up. Then the OUTSIDE right half of the strip was glued onto the larger arch mat with the flower image facing down. Here is a picture you can refer to. If you have any questions, just email me to ask! nicole@thesigningstamper.com I would love to hear from you!

The inside of the card was stamped with the sentiment that says “Thanks for Being You”. A small strip of the DSP was added for decoration.

I also completed an alternate version of this card. For the alternate, I used the other side of the DSP which is the flower pattern that inspired the colors I chose for my coloring. Which one do you like better? The simple look of the blue? Or the colorful look of the flower pattern?

Both are embellished with the Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots. I love the simplicity of this fun fold but it still makes the card unique and fun for the recipient. You can see the list of products used at the bottom of this post.
