Simple Congrats for Graduation

My daughter graduated from high school this weekend!! I am still trying to process that fact! It was a wonderful weekend celebrating her achievements. For her special occasion, I enjoyed making a personalized card just for her. Here is what I made for her:

Her high school colors are black and maroon so I used Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler as the main card colors. I used two stamp sets for the stamped images, Simple Congrats (sentiment) and Cap & Gown (cap and diploma). I inked these in Versamark and used Silver Embossing powder. The silver on top of the black paper really made it pop out! The black layer was cut out with a die from Textured Notes Dies. The card base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock. My daughter loves flowers so I used the flower pattern of the Cherry Cobbler Designer Series Paper. For accents, I used the little flower dies from the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing folder. I decorated those flowers with the silver color from Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems.

She said she really loved the card and it made me feel good to see her smile when she opened the card. Now it’s time to get ready for college!!!
