Hello Sunshine Summer Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Summer is my absolute favorite time of the year! I am so happy it’s the month of June now. I love the warm weather, all my flowers blooming, and the long days of sunshine. So this month’s theme for the Team Blog Hop is just perfect: Celebrating Summer.

Here is my card to celebrate summer:

The flip flops from the Splash and Relax Bundle are a must for the summer and this Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper has the best summery & beachy colors in it! The sentiment “Hello Sunshine” is also from the Splash and Relax Bundle. The Array of Dots embellishments coordinate perfectly with this paper. This is one of the reasons I love Stampin’Up products- they offer coordinating products which help to make my cards stand out (and easy to put together)!

To make this card:

• Cut Lost Lagoon cardstock at 8-1/2 by 5-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″
• Cut the striped pattern paper from the Beautiful Ordinary Life DSP at 4 x 5-1/2″ with the stripes going vertically when the paper is oriented in landscape mode, and glue on.
• Cut a strip of Basic Beige cardstock at 5-1/2 x 1-3/4 inch.
• Using a Stampin Spritzer mixed with Crumb Cake ink refill and rubbing alcohol, lightly spray the Basic Beige paper to give a “sand” or “beach” look. Glue onto card, slightly above center
• Cut flip flops base and straps in Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, and Lost Lagoon. Assemble flip flops by glueing straps on and then glue onto the sand strip.
• Stamp sentiment “Hello Sunshine” in Flirty Flamingo ink onto scrap Basic White cardstock. Cut out with Rounded Rectangle punch. Cut the bottom of the punched panel underneath the word Sunshine for a new shape/look
• Adhere sentiment with dimensionals
• Add embellishments from Array of Dots

For the inside of the card, I kept it simple by adhering a small strip of the same striped pattern paper at the bottom of a Basic White panel. I also used this same paper to decorate the envelope for a total coordinating look.

This card definitely gives me the summer feels with the flip flops, sand, and the colors. Hope you are enjoying the start of your summer as well.
