Happy Thursday!! This week we have a theme challenge for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. The theme is Flowers.
We have so many choices of flower stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! I am totally ok with that because I LOVE flowers. Gardening is one of my other hobbies when I am not crafting. For my card, I used the new Simply Beautiful Bundle from the Lovely & Beautiful Suite. Here is my card:
To make this card:
- Cut Thick White cardstock for cardbase 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″
- Cut Basic White cardstock at 5-1/2 x 4-1/4, emboss with Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder
- Wrap embossed panel with White with Gold Ribbon about one inch from the bottom
- Glue embossed, ribbon wrapped panel onto cardbase
- From the Simply Beautiful set, ink the large flower, the double leaves, and the single leaf with Versamark and stamp onto scrap Basic White.
- Add Gold embossing powder and heat set
- Color the large flower with Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend and lighten with Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter
- Color the center stems of the large flower with Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend
- Color the double leaves and single leaf with Light Old Olive and lighten with Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter
- Cut out large flower and leaves with corresponding dies from Simply Beautiful Dies
- Adhere flower and leaves with dimensionals above the ribbon, with one leaf hanging over the ribbon.
- Ink “Happy Birthday” sentiment from Boardwalk Fun in Versamark ink and stamp onto scrap Basic White.
- Add Gold Embossing powder and heat set
- Cut out with Stylish shape banner die
- Adhere with dimensionals on the right side of the large flower above ribbon.
I decorated the inside and the envelope for coordination. I left this card blank to have room to write my sentiments as this card is going to a special person!!
Inside & Envelope:
- Add a small strip of Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper (pattern is the one with the Fresh Freesia Flowers with gold centers
- Decorate flap of envelope with the same DSP and stamp small flower from Simply Beautiful stamp set on front inked in Fresh Freesia
This card was pretty easy to make, it took a little more time for the coloring of the flowers and leaves, but it was very relaxing to take some time for coloring. I hope you enjoyed this card.
