Brushed Beauty Birthday Card for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend last week. Are y’all ready for Christmas?! Its hard to believe its already December. I’m taking a break from Holiday card themes for this week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. Maybe if I don’t do a Christmas theme this week, then the time slows down before Christmas?! No? Oh well, it was worth a try! This week’s Hop is a sketch challenge:

I need more birthday cards so I decided to make a birthday card with this sketch using the Brushed Beauty Suite. Here is my card:

The cardbase is Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, & scored at 4-1/4″. The next panel is from Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper, cut at 4 x 5-1/4″. This was glued on. The next panel is Calypso Coral cardstock, cut at 3-1/4 x 4-1/2″. On top of the Calypso Coral is a floral pattern from the Brushed Beauty DSP that is cut at 3 x 4-1/4″. I glued the floral pattern on. The Calypso Coral and floral DSP glued panel are then adhered with dimensionals. I used the long thin leaf die from the Petals of Beauty Dies to cut scrap Mossy Meadow cardstock and glued this leaf on. Next I used the Words of Beauty dies to cut the 2 layers of “because” with scraps of Very Vanilla and Calypso Coral cardstock. These were glued together and then adhered to the card with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment “its your birthday” from the Words of Beauty stamp set in Calypso Coral ink onto scrap Very Vanilla cardstock. I cut this out with the sentiment die from Words of Beauty Dies and glued it on just underneath the “because”. The final touch was to add 3 Calypso Coral colored Pearls of Beauty Embellishments.

For the inside, I stamped along the right side of the card with the small trio of flowers image from the Petals of Beauty stamp set with Calypso Coral ink. I stamped the sentiment ” Wishing you Good Things” from the Banner Sayings stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink. Underneath that, I stamped the sentiment ” Happy Birthday” in Calypso Coral ink, also from the Banner Sayings stamp set.

This Brushed with Beauty Suite is so beautiful with its creams, corals, and greens. I love these colors together. They make beautiful cards for many different occasions.
