Friendly Foliage Sending Love Card for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! Thursdays is one of my favorite days because its time for our weekly Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. I look forward to seeing everyone’s creations each week! This week we have a sketch challenge:

This challenge was perfect timing as I just received my Friendly Foliage Bundle from the new November Online Exclusives! I couldn’t wait to use this bundle. When I saw that vertical rectangle on the sketch, I knew right away just what this rectangle was going to be! The hardest part for me about this challenge was deciding what colors to use. Here is my card:

I had not used Blackberry Bliss in a while, so I decided to pull that out! I added Gray Granite and Basic Beige colors as well.

To make this card, I cut Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the cardbase at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ and scored it a 4-1/4″. I stamped the very bottom of the front of the card repeatedly with the small leaf image from the Friendly Foliage stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink. It’s hard to see in the picture but it actually looks nice in person. I cut a panel of Gray Granite at 5-3/8 x 3-1/4″ and embossed it with the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder. I wrapped a strand of Basic Beige Ribbon around this panel before gluing it on. Next I stamped the rectangle & leaves image from the Friendly Foliage stamp set. I die cut that with the corresponding die cut and glued it on. Before I pressed down on the glue completely, I cut out three Blackberry Bliss leaves with the small leaf die and tucked them behind the rectangle with a small touch of glue. I stamped the sentiment “Sending Love” from this same stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on scrap Gray Granite cardstock. I cut it out with the smaller word die from Words of Beauty Dies and cut out the next larger word die with Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I matted these together and then adhered them with dimensionals. The last step was to add 3 Basic Beige Pearls of Beauty embellishments.

For the inside, I stamped a Basic Beige panel with the sentiment ” You’re on my mind and in my heart” in Blackberry Bliss Ink. I also added the small leaf stamp in two of the corners. These sentiments are simple but meaningful and can be used in a variety of situations.
