Another Fluffy Squirrel Birthday Card

Yesterday I posted a card I made using the new Fluffy Squirrel stamp set. I used it with the new Gathering Together Designer Series Paper to make a fall-themed birthday card. You can see that post here.

It was so much fun making this card, I decided to make another one. This time I used a floral theme for my friend’s birthday. My friend is one of those special people that has a big heart for animals. She runs a non-profit animal rescue. She also helped our local wildlife rehab organization with taking care squirrels and possums. Here is a picture of me feeding one of the squirrels she rescued!

This same friend also loves flowers and helped me get my greenhouse started! To let her know how special she is to me, I wanted to make the perfect card for her. So I made this card combining flowers and squirrels!!!

To make this card, I used Pretty Peacock for the cardbase, cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. The floral paper is from the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper, cut at 4 x 5-1/4″. The squirrel is stamped on Basic White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black. I inked the “filler” stamp in Cajun Craze and stamped off twice to lighten the ink and then stamped inside the squirrel. Next, I took my Petal Pink Stampin Blend and colored the white parts of the squirrel. The gift box was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and the acorn was stamped with Cajun Craze ink. I used the 2nd largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies to cut out the stamped images.

For the banners, I did the same thing as my previous card yesterday. They are both cut with the same sized banner from the Stylish Shapes dies. The Pretty Peacock banner was cut it half. Then I glued the 2 halves under the circle with a gap in between. This makes it appear longer than the Petal Pink Banner. The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock on the Petal Pink banner. This Petal Pink banner is adhered with dimensionals to make the sentiment banner pop out.

For the inside of the card, I decorated a panel of Basic White with gift boxes stamped in Pretty Peacock and acorns stamped in Cajun Craze.
