Sending Love with a Sweet Jar Card

One of my in-person Stamp Camp attendees asked me to design a card for Stamp Camp that she could send to her son in college. I browsed through my stamp sets, brainstorming ideas of what I could make. Then I spied my Sweet Jar stamp set and everything fell into place. I decided to offer my campers two color versions of this card to personalize it as it suited their needs. They were also able to personalize the contents of the jar and the sentiments. Here are the cards:

The first choice the campers had was to pick which color patterned paper they wanted to use- the Pool Party color or the Strawberry Slush color. Both papers are from the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper. Next they could choose if they wanted to put cookies or hearts in their jar. The stamp set also offers candles for a birthday and 4 leaf clovers for sending good luck. It was really fun to watch them design their cards and I enjoyed seeing all the different creative results.

Here is the version using Pool Party color and cookies in the jar:

And here is the version using Strawberry Slush color and hearts in the jar:

To make these cards, first I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase (cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″) Next a 4x 5-1/4″ panel of DSP was glued onto the cardbase. The jar was stamped in either Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, or Crumb Cake. The inside of the jars were stamped with either the hearts stamp or the cookies stamps. For the cookies, first crumb cake was used to stamp the cookies, then Early Espresso was used to stamp the chocolate chips on top of the stamped cookies. The jar lid was stamped with the same color as the cardstock, either Pool Party or Strawberry Slush. The jar and the jar lid were both punched out with the matching punch in the Sweet Jar Bundle. The sentiments were chosen and stamped onto Basic White. The sentiment was die cut with the smallest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. The background Crumb Cake arched panel was cut with the 5th largest die from Everyday Arches Dies. The jar was glued on to the Crumb Cake arch panel on the bottom left. The circular sentiment was glued at the top right, then the entire panel was adhered with dimensionals. The finishing touches were a Linen Thread bow on the jar and the Flat Pearl Adhesives (either in Strawberry Slush color or Summer Splash color).

For the inside of the card, sentiments were used to correspond with the front. For example, for the cookie jar card, the inside sentiment is “A little treat for you” and for the jar of hearts card, the inside sentiment is “miss you bunches”.

All of my Stamp Camp attendees LOVED this card! I fell in love with this stamp set too! I am already planning to come back to this stamp set soon to use it for a birthday card with candles in the jar!!
