Simple Thinking of You with Sentimental Framing

If you’ve been following my blog, by now you’ve probably figured out I have a preference for simple stamping!! I like to get cards out frequently to let people know I am thinking of them. Keeping my stamping simple helps to achieve that goal. This card features the Sentimental Framing stamp set. I really love this stamp set. It gives so many sentiment choices to let someone know you care and are thinking of them.

For my card, I started with a cardbase of Mossy Meadow cardstock. I cut out a pattern from Thoughtful Journeys Designer Series Paper (DSP) with a frame die from Textured Notes Dies. The scenes from this DSP are so beautiful and make the card special on its own. If you look closely, the sentiment is heat embossed. I did this by inking the sentiment “Thinking of You” in Versamark Ink. While the Versamark was still on, I inked it with Mossy Meadow ink. This was stamped onto the DSP and then sprinkled with clear embossing powder and set with the heat gun. This technique allows you to heat emboss using any of your inkpad colors!!

Before gluing this panel onto the cardbase, I wrapped some Linen Thread around the panel, then adhered the panel. These 3 simple techniques- using a focal DSP, using heat embossing, and embellishing with the linen thread- help to make the card special even though its a quick and easy card to make!

For the inside, I adhered a panel of Basic White with a strip of the DSP for decoration. This stamp set offers so many choices for a message inside. My picture does not yet show which sentiment I used. Which one would you add to this card?

Here’s another Thinking of You card I made with this stamp set and these techniques. It is heat embossed with Night of Navy. Because this one was for a male recipient, I skipped the thread embellishment. The cardbase for this card is Misty Moonlight. The DSP is Beautiful Gallery DSP which has so many beautiful focal images ranging from countryside scenes to water scenes to flowers.
