Happy Father’s Day with Sunrise Sailing

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!! Today I am sharing a Father’s Day card I made for my husband. He loves being out on the water. We live in the coastal area of Charleston, SC so there is water around us everywhere. His favorite escape is going out on his boat. I decided to use the Sunrise Sailing Bundle for his Father’s Day card. His boat is not a sailboat, but I knew he would appreciate this theme. To make this card, I used the two of the new In Colors; Secret Sea and Cloud Cover. The cardbase is Secret Sea and the light blue layer is Cloud Cover. I used the Sunrise Sailing Embossing Folder to make the waves on the Cloud Cover layer by inserting the bottom 2 inches of the paper into the bottom part of the embossing folder.

I used a blending brush to apply a little bit of Secret Sea ink over the waves. This gave the waves some depth. The sailboat image was stamped onto Basic White cardstock with Secret Sea ink and cut out with the corresponding die. The sailboat was adhered with dimensionals and the birds were stamped on either side of the sailboat. The sentiment comes from two stamp sets- She’s The Greatest and He’s the Greatest. I added Cloud Cover Flat Pearls on both sides of the sentiment.

I am excited to give him this card. I want to show him how much I appreciate what a wonderful father he has been to our kids. He has always been so dedicated and supportive of them. Here’s a picture from when the kids were young. It is a trip down memory lane as they are off in college now.
